This Surgical Short Stay RN position places you in a 12-bed unit dedicated to adult surgical patients, primarily admitted from PACU with stays less than 24 hours. You'll handle pre-op assessments, inpatient surgical admissions, and coordinate care in a setting where nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:6. Expect to float as needed across inpatient surgery floors, holding areas, or medical units, with every other weekend required. The role involves working 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) for 13 weeks, providing a chance to experience a fast-paced, organized surgical environment that handles diverse procedures from colorectal to vascular surgeries. You'll utilize advanced equipment like CBI, Doppler ultrasound, and wound VAC systems, and must pass EKG testing before starting. ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory, with a minimum of two years of Med Surg and short-stay experience required. This role is ideal for a dedicated RN eager to apply or expand their surgical skills in a challenging but rewarding setting.
